Philosophy

Hello and welcome to Meridian Passage Wellness.  My approach to healthcare is a product of many years of education mixed with a healthy dose of life experience.  A career Naval Aviator, I’ve melded my discipline, flying and military service with an intense interest in health and wellness.

I began this journey in Ohio on the shores of Lake Erie.  I grew up on the water with an appreciation for the life it provides. In the Navy, I was a navigator in the back seat of an F14 Tomcat, with much of my time in the aircraft spent navigating in one way or another.

My Navy service took me all over planet earth. I’ve traveled extensively cultivating a deep admiration and respect for the simple ways other healers approach illness and alternative ways to navigate towards vitality.

The concepts of water, navigation and a simplified approach to health are intrinsic to my philosophy.  In essence, as a Naturopathic Doctor and practitioner of Eastern Asian medicine, I am a guide – a star you might use to help navigate across the sea of healthcare choices you need to make to successfully find your way to wellness.

Meridian Passage occurs when a celestial body crosses the observer’s meridian of longitude and at that instant, it will reach its greatest altitude above the observer’s horizon.  As your guide, I’m your compass helping you find that zenith, your greatest altitude.  Where can I help you navigate today?

Hello and welcome to Meridian Passage Wellness.  My approach to healthcare is a product of many years of education mixed with a healthy dose of life experience.  A career Naval Aviator, I’ve melded my discipline, flying and military service with an intense interest in health and wellness.  I have also seen first hand how trauma affects our ability to get the most out of life.

My Navy service took me all over planet Earth. In my extensive travels, I’ve cultivated a deep admiration and respect for the simple ways healers of other cultures approach illness.  I’ve learned vastly different perspective on how to navigate towards vitality.

The concepts of water, navigation and a simplified approach to health are intrinsic to my philosophy.  In essence, as a Naturopathic Doctor and practitioner of Eastern Asian medicine, I am a guide – a star you might use to help navigate across the vast open ocean of healthcare choices you need to make to successfully find your way to wellness.

In a perfect world, there would be no need for supplements as food, primarily plants, would provide us with all the tools we need to stay vital. Since we don’t live in a perfect world, it’s understandable that we will need some different strategies to make up for the lack of nutrition in our food.  Effective nutrient therapy is targeted and specific.  Built for the individual. Acupuncture & Moxibustion
Acupuncturists do more than apply needling to “special points”. Acupuncture stems from ancient Asian health practices that became an entire system of medicine using needling, bodywork, breathing, and herbal medicinals. The system of East Asian Medicine is also a living body of holistic practices stemming from the ancient Chinese “Heaven and Earth” philosophy that takes into account the environment within the human being and the environment that the human being is living within. This is the biggest fundamental difference between seeing an “East Asian practitioner” versus other modalities…Read More

Mind Body Medicine
There is a growing body of scientific research that indicates Mind-Body practices can help with all sorts of conditions from high blood pressure to digestion, and even pain. But what is “Mind Body” medicine? It’s the approach to health that acknowledges that we are not just a physical body. We are mind and spirit as well.  And health of one is intimately related to the health of the other.

This isn’t just “mind over matter” or the idea that you can psychologically push through what you’re experiencing.  At Meridian Passage Wellness, the idea of Mind and Body is the holistic relationship between the two. Oftentimes, it is a two-way relationship that has been patterned and conditioned into your current experience.

When the practice of mindfulness and intention is applied with body affecting skills, a person can begin to have a conscious effect on both their mind and their body because they are now mastering both…Read More.
