Neurosomatic Intelligence (NSI)

What is Neurosomatic Intelligence?

Neurosomatic Intelligence, or NSI, is a gentle, body-centered approach that helps your brain and body feel safe again. It works with your nervous system to release patterns of stress, pain, or trauma that might be keeping you stuck—even if you can’t always explain why.

Modern medicine often tells us that the brain can’t change.  We’ve been taught that once we’re “wired” a certain way, we’re stuck with it. That’s simply not true. Your brain is capable of healing even after something like a traumatic brain injury (TBI).

NSI taps into the incredible power of neuroplasticity.  This is your brain’s ability to create new pathways and what enables you to move out of survival mode and into a state of greater regulation, ease, and connection. Notably, NSI would pair well with the integration phase of psychedelic assisted therapy as this period is marked by vastly increased rates of neuroplasticity.

How does it work?

We start by gently mapping how your nervous system is operating.  What is working well, and where are you stuck in fight, flight, or freeze. From there, we use simple tools like breath work, slow movement, visual and balance exercises, and somatic tracking to send clear signals of safety to the brain. With consistent input, your system starts to rewire itself creating new patterns that support healing, calm, and connection.

How it's used in practice

I use NSI with people navigating chronic pain, burnout, anxiety, trauma, and complex health conditions. It’s a beautiful complement to other therapies like acupuncture, bodywork, naturopathic medicine, and even talk therapy.  This is because it’s working on the central nervous system which helps your entire system.  You become more receptive and resilient. When your nervous system feels safe, everything else works better.

What you might notice

Many people start to feel a shift within the first few sessions.  This might feel like more calm, clarity, or ease. Over time, you might notice better sleep, less pain, steadier moods, and improved digestion.  Most importantly, there is more space between you and the things that used to overwhelm you. You start feeling more you. For folks who’ve tried everything and still feel stuck, NSI often brings a sense of hope and possibility back into the healing journey.

How long does it take?

Every nervous system is different, and healing isn’t linear. Some people feel a noticeable difference after just 1–3 sessions. For deeper, long-standing patterns, we typically work together over 6 to 12 sessions to build lasting change. Sessions are usually biweekly, and we adjust the pace based on how your system is responding. The work is gentle, respectful, and always guided by your body’s wisdom.

FAQ's

What exactly is NSI

NSI is a gentle, body-centered approach that helps your brain and body feel safe again. It works with your nervous system to release patterns of stress, pain, or trauma that might be keeping you stuck, even if you can’t always explain why.

Is this like therapy or body work?

It’s a little bit of both, and also its own thing. NSI doesn’t involve traditional talk therapy or deep tissue work. Instead, we use subtle tools like breathwork, visual and balance cues, and slow movement to help your system shift out of survival mode and into a state where healing can happen.

Who is this for?

NSI is for anyone who feels stuck, overwhelmed, burnt out, or like their body’s holding onto something that won’t let go. It’s especially helpful if you’ve tried other approaches and felt like they didn’t quite reach the root of the issue.

How long does it take to work?

Many people notice a difference within the first few sessions—maybe sleeping better, feeling calmer, or having less pain. For deeper patterns, we often work together over 6–12 sessions. The process is guided by your body’s pace, not a set protocol.

Can this work alongside other treatments?

Absolutely. NSI pairs beautifully with acupuncture, naturopathic medicine, talk therapy, psychedelic assisted therapy, and more. It helps your whole system become more receptive and regulated, so other treatments can go deeper and last longer.

Do I need to know anything before starting?

Not at all. You just need to show up as you are. We’ll move gently, at your body’s pace, and I’ll guide you every step of the way.
